Wolf Stacked burner: everything you need to know

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Precise control. The low burner holds delicate sauces and even melts fine chocolate without scorching, while the high burner excels at all the cooking tasks that require more powerful heat, such as searing or boiling a pot of water. The individual spark ignition system means you never have to worry about your flame going out. And because it's sealed with a removable top cap, our burner is easy to clean.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Each tier of ports has its own separate gas delivery system in order to provide the precise gas flow that gives our dual-stacked burner its superior control.

1. Gas flows through individual delivery tubes (A)
2. Gas is directed into gas metering devices called orifices (B).
3. Primary air (C) is pulled into the burner mixing tube (D).
4. The blended mix of gas and air flows through the burner chambers.
5. The igniter (E) sparks and ignites the combustible gas.
6. The flame comes out through either the main (F) or simmer (G) burner ports.
7. Removable burner cap (H) and cooking grate complete the system.

WHAT PRODUCT(S) IS IT ON?

The dual-stacked sealed burner is available on Wolf gas ranges, dual fuel ranges, gas cooktops and sealed burner rangetops.

IS IT EXCLUSIVE OR PATENTED? 

We have one patent for the burner design and one patent for the dual-stacked igniter that protect our design from being identically reproduced. Therefore, independent control of upper and lower burner ports is exclusive to Wolf.

DOES OUR COMPETITION HAVE ANYTHING SIMILAR?

We believe that no competitor has a burner that provides such precise control at both the high and low end. 

Thermador's Star ® burner has more ports and a unique shape providing quick and even heating. However, it lacks the ultra-low lows of the Wolf burner, and at simmer, the burners repeatedly cycle on and off to achieve reduced temperatures. GE Monogram has a dual-flame burner, with main and simmer ports, but the simmer burner is always on, which performs less efficiently than the Wolf burner. Viking claims that their Elevation™ Burners are better because they're taller, made out of brass and have a higher BTU. In reality, Viking falls short. The Elevation TM burner lacks control on the low end end, only reaching 6K BTUs at it's lowest*. In comparison, Wolf's robust dual-stacked design keeps heat directed into the cooking vessel so precisely that the design doesn't require brass materials to absorb escaped heat.
